McKenzie + Demetri - Stover Hall Wedding, Luray, VA

McKenzie and I had only met over email, but even still, I was so excited to meet her! She was so genuine even just via email! I knew she was going to be an incredible soul with an inviting personality. Boy was I right.

Demetri has never met a stranger. The first thing I knew when I met him (and his groomsmen!) that day, was that this was going to be a fun day. Demetri was instantly warm, kind and hilarious.  Plus, he had already professed his love for my husband. See? No strangers at all!

Between the two, they never stopped smiling all day. Like- giant grins, constantly. It was a joy to capture two people so thoroughly in love with each other that they can't help but radiate that love!

Stover Hall was a great location! Between the historic home and the mountain views, we were spoiled to be in such a beautiful venue. They also have a lock wall, on which each bride and groom place a lock after they are married. McKenzie and Demetri were the last two to be on the original lock wall! It was such a neat tradition.

The day was all around wonderful. Fantastic families, and an amazing bride and groom. We couldn't have had more fun!

Congrats McKenzie and Demetri!

Brandi + Brent - Bold Rock Wedding, Nellysford, VA

Brandi and Brent are 100% the definition of nice! They are quick to smile and laugh, which made their day so much fun! Their day was hot, but for the first time in forever, it didn't rain. Hoooooray! After the wedding we were able to ride around Bold Rock (golf caaaaart!) to get some of their portraits. Nellysford has some amazing views!

The wedding venue was beautifully punctuated with tons of signs, all hand made by the bride. She's so creative! And it made the whole place so cozy.

At the end of the night we snuck of the dance floor for some photos under the lights against the "apple" sign. Swoon!

Brandi and Brent, your wedding day had no rain, was full of music, with tons of laughter and love. Perfection!

Skyler and Stephanie - Panorama Farms Wedding, Earlysville, Virginia

The forecast was dismal. The whole creative team held their collective breath while Stephanie and Skyler's day drew closer with little hope of a clear day. When the day finally arrived, sure enough. Rain. And lots of it.

Most brides would have carried the clouds around with them, but not this girl. Stephanie was a ball of effervescent light. She even decided that morning to try and have the wedding outdoors, so it was! And while it rained the whole ceremony, the grins on their faces clearly indicated they cared not one tiny bit.

The whole wedding was marked by genuine happiness and tons fun. We couldn't have asked for a better bride and groom.

Thank you Skyler and Stephanie for charging us with capturing your day and for making it so easy. Congratulations!!!

Matt and Jaimie - Wedding at Rosebrook Inn, Stanardsville, VA

When Jaimie and I met for the first time I told her she would know me because I would be the eight months pregnant woman. She told me she would be the one with the red violet hair. This was going to be awesome.

Upon asking Jaimie what they like to do with their free time she told me that she and Matt have a group of friends they hang out with every week. Ok- so hang out is a bit of a misnomer. Jaimie and Matt host a group of friends for a standing gathering every week. Matt is an amateur (not so amateur from what I've heard) chef and loves to cook and entertain. I knew this wedding was going to be a glorious extension of that type of hospitality- and they would have amazing food! And they certainly delivered in the form of the South Fork Food truck!

These two have such huge hearts and combined with their friends and family on this day, they were on top of the world. The weather was sunny, thanks in part to the whiskey bottle buried upside down at the reception site, and the starry night theme was pulled of beautifully. Keep an eye out for all of the starry night inspirations as well as a few sugar skulls!

The night ended with a full on dance party that included everyone- grandmothers, small children and even a groomsman who was wearing nothing but the suit pants and vest. Priceless.

Thank you, Jaimie and Matt, for making us feel like a part of your Thursday night crew. Congratulations and enjoy married life- you're going to love it!
